Clean Printhead Station Drain

CAUTION: Hand-wash only for all printer components and accessories.

CAUTION: To avoid warping, do not use hot water when cleaning any of these components. Use warm water instead.

Wear food-safe gloves at all times when HANDLING the printhead station. Your skin will become stained if it comes in contact with binder. If skin comes in contact with binder, wash it with soap and warm water.

WARNING: BINDER IS FLAMMABLE AND EXPLOSIVE. DO NOT PERFORM THESE STEPS AROUND IGNITION SOURCES.

 

 Frequency:

Monthly

  1. Before performing these steps, perform steps 1-4 in the procedure Clean Printhead Station.
    1. Back at the printer, SLOWLY pour 8-10 oz. (237-296 ml) of warm water over the printhead-station base. The water will channel into the Waste Bottle in the Collection Area. Take care not to pour water over the actual piston and its seal.
    2. Wipe out any residual water that does not make it down the drain with a clean, dry cloth.
    3. SLOWLY pour some of the water specifically down the drain in preparation for Step 3.

CAUTION: Pouring water over the base too quickly can overwhelm the funnel on the waste bottle below, causing it to splash water in the Collection Area.

  1. Clean the printhead station piston, according to these instructions.

  1. Use the included Printhead Station Drain-Cleaning Brush to clean the waste tube below the printhead station. Push it down the drainage hole (1) and pull it in and out several times. Sanitize the brush after use.

  1. Perform Steps 5-7 in the procedure Clean Printhead Station.
 

The Printhead Station drain is now clean and ready for the next print!
