Clean Printhead Station

CAUTION: Hand-wash only for all printer components and accessories.

CAUTION: To avoid warping, do not use hot water when cleaning any of these components. Use warm water instead.

Wear food-safe gloves at all times when HANDLING the printhead station. Your skin will become stained if it comes in contact with binder. If skin comes in contact with binder, wash it with soap and warm water.

WARNING: BINDER IS FLAMMABLE AND EXPLOSIVE. DO NOT PERFORM THESE STEPS AROUND IGNITION SOURCES.

 Frequency:

Daily

  1. Ensure the printer Hood is closed and that you have emptied the Waste Bottle. If performing this task with other daily maintenance, go to settings-cog.jpg > Maintenance > Daily Cleaning. If doing this task by itself, tap Clean Printhead Station on the Maintenance screen. The Gantry will move to the left and the Printhead Station will move down. Wait until both motions stop before going to Step 2.

  1. Rinse both sides of the Printhead Station Top with warm water until all residual binder and powder have been removed. Once clean, set the Top on a paper towel to let air dry. Clean the removed Cap in the same manner. If sanitizing, clean the Printhead Station Top with your sanitizing solution and dry in the same manner as listed before.

CAUTION: Do not install the Printhead Station if the underside is still wet, as this can remove grease off the printhead-station piston.

NOTE: Gloved fingers or a soft, silicone brush can be used to gently remove stubborn residue or clean tight areas. Do NOT use tools around the wiper. Only dry the top side with a lint-free cloth or let air dry. The bottom surfaces can be dried with a paper towel.
