One of the great strengths of 3D Systems MultiJet Printing (MJP) technology is in its broad and individually optimized material set focused on different customer applications.  The Rigid family of materials (M2R-CL/WT/GRY/BK/TN) are optimized for general-purpose properties.  They are fairly stiff and strong with good heat deflection temperatures and yet maintain adequate elongation for many applications.  They are good for concept modeling and light end-use prototype part needs.  The engineering materials M2G-CL (Armor) and M2G-DUR (ProFlex) were designed for the most aggressive engineering applications as they can be substantially twisted, flexed and deformed without cracking or breaking. They are excellent for things like prototyping snap fits and for room temperature manufacturing operations like sheet metal forming.  All the Rigid and Engineering materials can also be used for applications that require secondary operations such as drilling/taping/machining/pressing.  The Specialty materials M2S-HT90 and M2S-HT250 were designed and optimized for high temperature prototyping needs. The M2S-HT90 material is also well suited for indirect manufacturing applications like plastic injection molding and thermoforming.  It is a stiff and strong material with a heat deflection temperature of 90 °C and yet still maintains an elongation before break of 6-7%.  The specialty material M2S-HT250 is extremely strong and stiff and achieves a heat deflection temperature >250 °C.  The Elastomeric family includes 30 Shore A black and natural materials for things like vibration dampening and medical modeling.  The 70 Shore A elastomer has the hardness and rebound similar to elastomers like Viton and natural rubber and can be used for numerous applications including O-rings, seals, and consumer electronics.  All materials achieve a good surface finish, sharp corners, fine features and high fidelity true-to-CAD parts that MJP technology is well known for. The smooth surface texture of MJP allows easy painting with high quality results.   Painting is not the only colorization option as Rigid clear or white and both engineering materials can be dyed a range of opaque or translucent colors.
