QR Code Scanning Messages

These are messages you may get related to the QR code scanning process. For more information, please see the section Begin Your Print Job.

Verify material type

This means that the QR code was scanned correctly, but was not recognized as a code that is usable on the printer.

This could mean one of a few things:

  1. The QR code was simply not read correctly. Try scanning the code once more.
  2. The QR code has become corrupted in some way. Ink marks, scratches, tears, etc. are examples of ways the code could be corrupted. Call your authorized print-material provider for replacement QR code information.
  3. The QR code scanner has become corrupted in some way. Clean the scanner of dust and debris and try scanning your code again.
  4. The QR code scanner is in need of repair. If this is the case, please contact your authorized print-material provider to begin the process of obtaining a replacement printer via advanced exchange. Please see the section Test Scanner for information on troubleshooting this issue.
