  1. When soaking completes, the printhead will move to the printhead inspection position toward the front of the machine. Open the hood and inspect the printhead for debris/binder residue. You can do this by placing the included mirror below the printhead when it parks at the front-right of the deck. Observe both the rectangular jetting area (1, right-bottom) and the areas on the faceplate surrounding it (2, right-bottom).
    1. If the jetting area (1) is not clean, complete Steps 1-3 once more.
    2. If the surrounding faceplate (2) is not clean, proceed to Step 5.
    3. If everything is clean, proceed to Step Step 8.

  1. Carefully install the Faceplate-Cleaning Cover on the printhead, as shown. It stays in place via the magnets on the sides and will prevent you from accidentally touching the printhead jets in future steps.

NOTE: Ensure that the Faceplate-Cleaning Cover is clean of powder and debris before use on the printer.

  1. Dampen a provided lint-free cloth with cool water and lightly touch it to the exposed outer areas of the printhead faceplate with a couple of fingers. The damp cloth will hydrate any dry, sticky binder residue. Once residual binder is hydrated and does not stick to the cloth, lightly wipe the exposed faceplate surfaces with the cloth until binder is gone. Wipe down the bottom edge of the outer printhead cover (1). Once the faceplate is completely cleared of binder, wipe it down with a lint-free cloth dampened with your sanitizing solution. Dry the area thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.

CAUTION: DO NOT PRESS HARD ON THE PRINTHEAD. DO NOT SCRAPE OR DRAG STICKY BINDER ACROSS PRINTHEAD. DO NOT CLEAN THE PRINTHEAD WITHOUT THE PRINTHEAD-CLEANING COVER.
